Şanlıurfa tunnel system as the world's longest irrigation tunnel has a tunnel length of 58.400 composed of 2 parallel tunnels each approximately 26,4 km long and connection tunnels which connect these tunnels and 3 approach tunnels. Excavation and support works were carried out with excavation manufactures made with drilling-blasting performed through at least 16 excavation mirrors and tunnel machine (Roadheader). Tunnel has been made ready for operation by reinforced concrete coating and injection supported by sprayed concrete, wire mesh, rock bolts of different types, steel shoring and steel segments.
